I'm Jess!
I am a student photojournalist at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. My dream is to be a traveling photojournalist and filmmaker. My camera is an extension of my hand and my eye, so I never leave home without it. I've been doing photography since 2015 (when I was in sixth grade!). Now, as a college senior, I am more skilled than ever.
I am based in Pittsburgh, PA and the DC/Maryland areas, but I am open to traveling.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, and in the summer of 2024, I interned at PublicSource, a nonprofit newsroom in my hometown. It led me to see my city in a brand new way. Since then, I've held a total of five internships, and I've gotten to use my camera in all of them!

Capturing and sharing the world through my eyes.
My motto to describe my photography is "capturing the world through my eyes" because everyone sees the world differently. The work I share is how I saw it and how I want to remember it. As a photojournalist, I strive to capture the world truthfully, but different framing and angles can say different things. I stay true to the situation I'm photographing, but I also stay true to myself.
